I had a '99 SH. Loved it. Would I recommend it still? Not really. I'd take a used current civic over a Prelude.

I can pick up an old 95 integra special edition sedan with 200k miles on it.

I'm gonna stick a B18C5 ITR motor into it and make it my daily

I have a 2000 Prelude with about 130K on the clock and I keep it around because it's been paid for a long time and it NEVER has any problems. It's peppy...gets okay gas mileage and while nothing the fancy, the interior has held up very well and seats are comfy. $9K seems a tad on the high side even with only 65K miles...I see them all day for $5-6K with 90-100K miles and that seems like a steep premium to pay for a Honda that will easily go 200K+ miles.

I love me some Preludes. But $9000 seems kind of expensive for one...
I've owned 3 of them, including 2 1993 VTECs and a 2000 model. They are great all around cars: Sporty, comfortable, reliable, relatively practical. Just stay far far away from the ones with the automatic transmission.

I had a 98 Type SH for 100,000 kms. Absolutely no problems whatsoever.

Great lines, comfy, room...although a bit on the heavy side.

A 2006 Civic SI is more than 9k...more like 15K...
Not that new - 03-04. Faster, newer, less or equal miles.

That used to be the knock on them. But today, in an age of 2954lb Civic Sis, the Preludes are lighter than virtually any comparable new car available today.

My friend drives a 2000 and he got his for 6 grand with 95K on the clock. A good and reliable car but for some reason my other friends 4th gen VTEC prelude feels faster. I'm guessing weight?

I had a '97 base for about 6 years. Ended up selling it to my brother. Fantastic car. Wish I still had it. All the power you need, roomy interior (I'm 6'2"), reliable, and good-looking.

And I don't get all the comparisons to RSXs and Civics. They're different types of cars. The Prelude isn't a honked up econo-box.
