I guess a lot of car owners are not quite happy about their ownerships of their German automobiles huh?!

Fire away!

Thanks. Very interesting list. More bad news for GM as the Cobalt made the most unreliable list. They had such a long time to get that one right, too.

it could be that benz and bmw owners expect more from their cars and maybe that's why there's a higher percentage of dissatisfaction...

omg!! i just realized by typing benz and bmw, it directly sets up some sponsors link...

Most of the trouble with German cars is due to unreliability of complex onboard electronics equipment.

I traded in my 2001 BMW 325i for my current daily driver (2005 S2000). I loved the way the Bimmer drove and it had a rock solid feel to almost everything in it. But I had chronic problems with the window regulators and had to have the front suspension bushings replaced after only 20k.

Neither of those problems were electronics-related. It's weird but I started to think that BMW made their cars with obsolescence built into them. The car felt solid as a tank when I drove it but I never knew what the next $1000 problem was going to be.

My friend just bought a very, very clean preowned '02 E55. I hope it works out for him.

Well, after paying that kind of money, I think they sort of have the rights to expect a little bit more from their cars. (eg. able to start their cars in the morning)
That's funny. My 2003 M3 just got out of the shop for a dead starter. It took them 3 days to figure it out and fix it.

I had an Audi TT...great car, solid, well built, excellent quality of materials, etc. But chronic electrical problems. Had a Porsche Boxster S and had no problems but an oil change is $150! If anything ever goes wrong with a German car out of warranty it is absurdly expensive to get it repaired.
