About three days later all the paperwork was done and Audi agreed to purchase the car back (cars been in the shop like 35 days in 6 mos. and had the same CEL 4x).
Only negatives are that they can jack you on normal cosmetic damage (rim rash, door dings) and you don't get ALL your money back--they deduct for miles, which I suppose is fair, but it's not like I'm getting any credits for all the pain in the ass that this process has caused.
In any case, Audi's been pretty cool about it all.

Well the lawyer I talked to said that it was standard. They said that if they weren't successful, it'd be free, but if they were successful, I'd owe $500. Audi, it turns out, owes 'em $2500. $3K for a few letters and a couple phone calls isn't a bad racket. Especially if you're good at jacking your own customers.
I'll call 'em on Mon. and find out what's up with the $500 charge.

VW/Audi is almost impossible to get a new car. I dealt with this last year with my friends Jetta. They will fly out a real tech from germany to try and fix the car.....and its a LOOOOOONG process after that. They have so many clauses against lemons, its stupid. Find out their rules on lemons, and then talk to an attourney.

In most states you shouldn't have to pay a lawyer if successful on a lemon law suit. Heck I made Ford pay for everything from my insurance on the car, to sales tax, to interest on the loan as well as my lawyer fees. They were lucky I ddin't go for the extra $10K allowed under Maryland law.

^ Problem is, its takes A LOT to get to the law. Car makers today, protect themselves as to what they think they have to do to declare a lemon. Not as cut and dry as you might think. From the time you think you have a lemon, add about 6 months if you are lucky to actually get a replacement.
