Lexus CT 200 hybrid
I was wondering what peoples' thoughts are on the new Lexus hybrid.
A friend of mine just bought one over the weekend. He took me for a ride in it.
It's nice but it seems the only reason he bought it over a similarly optioned Prius (which would have been 2-3 thousand cheaper) is because it's a "Lexus".
It may have some more utility compared to the Prius due to the shape of the hatchback. It reminded me a lot of the Mazda 3.
Thoughts?

I saw one the other day and thought it +was+ a Mazda 3! I even "saw" the Mazda logo (though I suppose at a distance all the Japanese logos kind of look the same, and/or my eyesight is getting really bad ).
Not bad looking, crazy MPG, as a Lexus I'm sure it's well put together and you get the terrific dealer experience. Looks like they start right around $30K? Seems OK.

There's a pretty good write up in C&D this month. Prius engine, upgraded suspension and interior bits. IMO a lot better looking.
I've not driven one yet, but from the article I drew a conclusion that it would be closer to a modern day CRX Si than the CR-z. This is the car that Honda should have made. 40 to 43 mpg. Decent handling.
Then I did see something on television where they said it was 'not the greatest hybrid in terms of fuel mileage' and 'not a sports car either'.
I'm in for more personal feedback for this car. The marketing hype has me interested, hope to drive one soon.

I saw that same color at the carwash here in Irvine. It came out of the wash and pulled up for drying off, and I remember thinking, that's a Lexus? It was actually pretty nice!

Saw an orange-ish gold one on the road for the first time yesterday.
Looked way better in person.
$30k for a Lexus hybrid? Winner in my book.

Looks pretty nice. Kind've sporty & the interior is nice as well. I don't think I would change out of my Prius jut to get into one, but if I was looking to get into a hybrid now, I would definately consider it.
