About a year-and-a-half ago I read in a car magazine that Lexus was going to put their 3.3L 6-cylinder in the SC430. Has anybody else heard about this? I am just curious.

 

I remember seeing that as well. I would love that car with a 6 speed v6 and add a turbo. I love that car in white with some 19" or 20" lowenharts and an inch drop to remvoe the wheel well gap. I saw that combo once and was in awe.

 

I have talked to some Toyota guys about that. It is still coming, but they wanted to sell a lot of 430's before they undercut it. I would expect an SC330 and an SL320 to be released around the same time, which means it might take a little while. MB will not release the 6cyl until demand dies down for the SL.

 

Probably won't be a 3.3L as that's used for more FWD/AWD applications with Toyota. The new GS concept was shown with a new 3.0 L V6 making 245 HP I believe. This (if anything) would be Toyota's RWD platform V6

 

I went to a Lexus dealer a couple of weeks ago. I bought my ES there quite some time ago and they have usually been right on with their answers.

They told me that there is very little chance an SC330 will be launched in the near future but look for an upcoming IS coupe/convertible.

 

Won't care till I see pics, but let's hope Toyota goes back to a sport car worth buying...
