Default Looking at 06 Vette

Have been looking at a MY06 Vette coupe. Has 11,132 miles on it. The car was a GM buy back. According to the paper work there was a problem with removeable top that has been replaced. Asking price is 40,200. Options at time of original purchase were chrome rims and a handling package.
I have always wanted a Vette but don't have a feel weather this is a good deal or not.

Definitely not a good deal.
Check out some of the cars for sale at Corvetteforum.com
or you can get a 2007 at $7K off MSRP, probably more if you work them.

You should just wait it out and buy the new 2008 C6 Corvette's.

You can get a new 07 with zero miles on for $39,900. I know options would add some, but no way I'd buy a 1.5 to 2 year old car that's been lemon law-ed in the first place.

Chrome rims (I'd have to pay to get rid of them). Sport package is good to have but how much does that cost new maybe $2K. You should be able to get a new 07 with sport pack for $43K.

I know your local dealer may not want to make such a deal. But look on the web even out of state and you can find dealers that will give you that kind of deal, and will ship the car to a local dealership.

Ross Downings , Kerbeck and Criswell.

Criswell has 34 07s in stock.

Yeah, def not a good deal, people get new ones at that price all day long, some even cheaper. There's a reason that even the ones in the showroom don't have the usual markup.

Wow, that price is too high. 40 grand??? were about half way done with 2007.

It really depends on the option package, If the car you are looking at is loaded with the 3lt option group, Z51, Navigation, chrome. The pricing is probably good(MSRP at $56K or so) however the buyback issue would have me a bit worried unless it was bought back only because of the top and it has since had the polycarbonate top replaced with the SMC top.

If on the other hand it does not have hud, heated seats, memory package, Navigation, it is definitely not a good deal. And that is quite a few miles for a 2007.
You can find some mint used 2007's that are loaded with options and have minimal miles on them for $40K
