Looking for an SUV with baby coming and all. Update. Finally bought a car!

I have a baby coming December. I currently have a daily driver(08 legacy gt) and then of course S2000. My gf has a 2010 2.5i legacy.

We are thinking of getting an SUV as it makes things a lot easier having the added cargo space etc.

I think I'd like to keep my subaru as I've grown to like it. Might sell her car or maybe I'll buy a 3rd car and keep all. Not sure yet.

Anyways looking for an SUV but no first hand experience with any yet.

I won't be buying new but I'd put a budget around 30-35k maybe. Preferably certified for peace of mind.

I really like the MDX from pictures, reviews etc. I have not driven one though.

Is the RDX any good?

The higher end German ones I like a lot as well but reliability concerns me.

Awd is a must, I want lots of tech features. DVD, navigation etc a must.
Decent mpg would be nice as well.
Definitely want it to be a higher end feel with leather and some luxury features.

Any suggestions?

I've never thought of American cars really but any of those actually decent now? Like the Edge? Or Tahoe?

Not in a hurry to buy but probably want something by January or so the latest.

Ford Raptor... :suspect:

On another more serious note, Ford has really stepped up their game and the new explorer is really really nice.

Don't go certified (unless it's within $1-2k even than don't).

I'd go MDX or 1 year old RDX. Both great cars IMO. I love German cars, but the mdx and rdx are awesome cars. I've driven both and I was very pleasantly surprised.

We picked a Pilot over the MDX because of size. The Pilot is VERY roomy inside for a medium sized SUV. We've had ours for 2.5 years and it's been great. Very comfy, reliable, great on road trips, and the engine gets it moving decently quick for a large vehicle. Also, the interior and leather has stood up very well against a toddler and infant. Our only complaint has been the city MPG, which is about 16-18. On road trips we see around 23.

I'm gonna have to go to a used car dealer or something to see all different ones I think. I like how the mdx looks a lot more than pilot but exterior looks of course won't be only deciding factor.
Some of the new fords do look pretty nice! Keep seeing them around everywhere now.

I have a pilot bc I need the space but the mdx/rdx is much better to drive

I have 3 kids and another baby on the way.

The Subies will be more then enough.

Don't be like these other guys.

I think the extra cargo space would be nice to have. Not much trunk space left once I put baby stroller in the trunk.

I will probably keep my subaru and S and buy the SUV in addition.

problem with all the subies is that they all have the shittiest interiors.
