Anyone know about or have had experience with the Golf TDI MK4? Killer MPG and practicality. Issues I could think of... possibly reliability issues, hard to find.
^ Why Golf TDI 5-dr.? Go all the way with a Jetta Wagon TDI! After that get a grease fuel conversion:

-> And then laugh at every hybrid you pass like they are so stupid!

Haha, 2 main reasons:
- Not as good looking as the Golf
- Quite a lot more expensive

But yes! Biodiesel and grease conversion would be in the works!! Need to start making friends with some local restaurants...

So if a good Golf TDI can't be found, it'll be Mazda3 or EP3.

Sorry rockville, the Focus didn't make the cut

Thanks to everyone once again!

Why not save a few more thousand and get a Fit? If you're willing to spend $10K why not wait until you get something you really want rather than something you can afford? Just saying...

^ I would think the EP might be a better choice for him. Although I love the Fit wholeheartedly.

I would go with the Mazda in that group. Part of that is because I see the EP3 as inferior to the Focus while the Mazda is a better hauler that the Focus.

Of course the diesel option is a good one and if you are worried about fuel costs, it's the way to go. Not to mention that VWs are generally VERY nice... when they run .

If you don't mind me asking why did the Focus loose out? It's definitely the best driver's car of the bunch.
