LS460 revisited....
Now that the car is actually done with production, and in magazines, I think we can talk about it in more detail.
I just read my lastest copy of motor-trend, and WOW....
Ill scan some pics later on, but...they have the car doing a sideways burnout...the interior looks like the first class on a British Air flight...car is amazing. I think this will really get the Germans sweat glands going....
Your thoughts?

Well I think they completely dropped the ball on the exterior. The interior looks much better, but the exterior lets it down. As C&D noticed, the extra 102hp didn't seem to make it much faster at all. They did admit it seemed to be a gearing issue on an early car, but an increase of 102hp from the prvious model should yield AT LEAST a 1-second reduction in 0-60.
It'll probably sell great, it's just too bad the now-discontinued one had so much more going for it on the outside.

Hypothetically, if I had the money, I'd buy one. I don't care what any of you say, I wouldn't spend north of $70k on a luxury sedan and complain about the driving experience, or lack of one. If I bought one, it would be for one thing, and one thing only: To be coddled. I imagine the LS460 does that better than any competitor this side of $200k.
If I want driving experience, I'd just hop in one of my other cars, which I no doubt would have if I could drop $70k on a luxury sedan, which would be about car number 4 or 5 on my list.
Do I care that it's not quite as pretentious as the 7 series? Not a bit. If I wanted attention, I wouldn't be driving a luxury sedan. Do I care that it's not as handsome as the A8? A little bit, but I'd have other rolling sculpture in the garage by the time I got around to this thing.
This reminds me of a joke I read earlier today:
The engineers at Lexus discovered an innovative way to test the build quality on their cars. They put a cat inside a car, shut the door, and left it overnight. If the cat was dead in the morning, they knew they had a tight, well-built car.
The engineers over at GM heard about this test. They put a cat inside their car, shut the door, and left it overnight. The next morning the cat was gone.

Sweet Jesus. Way to bring up two incredibly inflamatory issues in one post, 1) whether anyone cares about driving dynamics in $70k sedans, and 2) GM bashing.

.However, I welcome all advances and rebuttals on the "driving dynamics in $70k sedan" front

We've BTDT, and while I happen to agree with you, there's a certain Cannuck with a faggy avatar who insists the world is made up with people who buy $70k cars without a second thought and they all drive like Schumy.....stand by for him.
.Seriously though, where do you even PUT 19 speakers?!?
I agree about the coddling. The person I know who drives an LS couldn't care less about driving dynamics. What he wants is reliabilty, luxury, quiet and pampering by the dealer and the LS delivers.
What is funny is that he burns regular gas in it to save a few bucks.
