I hope they went(died) fast. (after reading what I wrote, it sounds sarcastic, it's not)
It doesn't sound like it though.
I couldn't imagine the moments right before.
Plus who puts a tree at the end of a runway? It must have been on the side or something because most larger runways have sand or a wall or something. Either way, RIP.

take a look at the photo and you will see the cop car above the tree. The M5 flew about 200 feet before hitting the tree and splitting in two.
The driver did not anticipate the runway ending so quickly. At 150 mph Runways can be deceptively short and without lights practically impossible to see the spot at which it ends...

Doubt it. But, the other parents may be able to sue the parents who lent the kid the M5.
Not to minimize or make light of the trajedy, but stupid kid and stupider parents.

I wonder if the parents will sue BMW and the airstrip for killing their kids.

I agree- no one should trust an 18 year old in a car, period - much less a 500 hp car... lesson learned the hard way, I guess.
I guess my main message is this... don't always assume the stereotype that ALL teens and younger men are bad drivers (a lot are... dont get me wrong) but there are plenty of older ladies and gents that prove they can be just as bad. I just don't want this one incident to ruin it for all of the people my age who respect their vehicle and its limitations.
