I went to Mt. Evans with the family yesterday only to be treated by three MB test mules. For those that don't know, Mt. Evans is the highest paved road in North America. The 12 mile stretch climbs to just over 14k feet. Temps at the bottom can run in the 90s while in the mid 40s up top.
MB had some heavily cloaked cars making runs up and down the mountain. At the base was a large sedan, it looked like an unbadged S-Class. It had AMG wheels, big, unmarked brakes and a cockpit full of telemetry devices. The guy was there checking his monitors and simply letting the car idle. I asked the guy in the S-Class what he was testing. In a heavy German accent he says, "Engine. We drive to Death Valley tomorrow."
The larger one, that sits lower, looks like that one suv/van that it shares w/chrysler Pacifica. I sat in with a focus group about two years ago here in San Diego with MB/Chysler with those vans.
