Default Mitsubishi Evo vs. Skyline GTR (R34)

I was just wondering how much better a Skyline GTR is compared to a Evo?
Both are 4wd, turbo and around the same hp.

Yet the GTR is far more praised then the Evo... is it just because we cant get it?

I never seen them compared like the evo and the sti does.

also them skylines got that ATTESA-ETS. which makes the skyline rear wheel drive until slippage occurs.

so like going into a corner u dont understeer like AWD. and if u start overing too much the awd kicks in.

not to mention we dont have the GTR yet so that forbidden fruit thingy.

Uh, don't forget the monstrous engine that came with the GT-R34. Putting a cap on that engine at 276hp (per their agreement) is like putting a nozzle on a steroidal pittbull. Remove the nozzle and all hell breaks loose. Can't say the same about the EVO.

Oh, I believe the GT-R also had all-wheel steering, which helped it favorably at the track.

Also remember bigger displacement of the RB26tt and the extra turbo.

That car had more technology in it than the 911 of today!

+1

i drive an Evo, but have wet dreams about the GTR every other night.

the GTR happens to look 5 million times better than the Evo/STi as well...

the GTR is more of a GT car compared to the Evo/STi, which are rally cars...relatively light weight, practically no interior, good power and gearings for sub-100mph acceleration, and full time AWD for maximum traction

the GTR as a street car pretty much has it all - a powerplant up there with the 2jz (imho) in terms of making mad power and staying together, 2.6L twin turbo and 8000rpm redline, part-time RWD drivetrain that goes AWD so you can launch the damn thing at 9000rpm, and an interior that is just flat out sexy....

as aforementioned different class of cars, can't even be compared....
