Not sure what to tell you. I was riding my ST1100 in 35 degree weather last week and it started as well as it would on a 70 degree day. This is on a 5 year old Interstate battery.
for the Battery Tender. I've been using one for years for winter storage.
My 01 CBR929 just got a new battery today. This is the third one in 5 & 1/2 years. Small battery and a couple months without riding... it goes flat. Next time I'm out of town for a long time I'll stick a battery tender on the CBR.
The FJR1300 is still on the original battery after 2y 3m though. Cost was about $70 for a "BikeMaster" battery.

you never mentioned how old the bike is how many miles whatever. do you ride every day or does the thing sit in the garage alot. ride the bike when you want but maybe you need to run the battery tender in between if it is not that often
get a harbor freight jump box and jump start the bike. get a DC clamp on amp meter from sears, is the battery charging? if not as expected:
a bike has a 3phase generator. after about 3years the generator windings start to go out. reference the service manual, at a given rpm measure each phase with a AC volt meter.
all this stuff is made in a single factory in vietnam, one factory, many brands. you know they themselves dont know what they ship and i would not want to guess a amp/hr rating of the average battery but something needs to be printed on the label.
dont run the bike w/o a battery
