Surprised that GM, Ford, Dodge are still in NASCAR though.

NASCAR isn't really motor sports. Well they have motors, but that's about all I'll give them. It's more like Wrestling.

Just because many of the majors are out doesn't mean there won't be good racing going on. Now we'll finally get to see some coverage of the "rest of the guys on the track".

I get so tired of a pack of 30 or more cars in the field and all we get to watch on TV is coverage of 4 or 5.

Please. It may not be your cup of tea, but it is motorsports.

I'm glad to see the vette move to GT2. For me, the closer the cars are to production vehicles, the more fun it is to watch them race and the more the technology is likely to filter down to the street version. I also enjoy the prototype cars and hope they stay around in some form. I need to see something exceeding 200 mph, just for the woo hoo factor.

Motorsports is far from going down. The only thing that will stop it is WWIII. Other than that....it is alive and well. As long as there are vehicles with wheels on them....man will race them, and Danica Patrick will crash them.

No you don't. There are plenty of privateers in motorsports. Motorsports is more than NASCAR, F1, WRC. There is ALMS, Grand Am/Rolex, Koni Challenge, Formula Mazdas, Indy, NHRA, MotoGP, etc, etc. etc. There are still plenty of sponsors and people with the dough to run. Is cash short? Yes. Are racing series? NOPE.

People need to stop with the doom and gloom with racing. There is no shortage of series to watch and run in.
