even with all that hp, with its half a century old aerodynamics i doubt that will have a higher top speed than the veyron. I have heard that saleen is prepping a 1000+hp version of his s7 that has already been tested at over 260mph.

0-186 mph in 10s. That's significantly faster than the Veyron. Of course, the Veyron is probably a lot less dramatic, a lot safer, and a lot more comfortable. Still, pretty impressive to have that big of a motor revving that high.
That said, as news2kroller said, they've been building 1000 hp muscle cars for quite a while.
At the end of the day, I'd still take the Veyron.

Lame. I don't even have to research that to know it's been done before. All kinds of rod-type cars are capable of 1300+ hp. The Bugatti is a turn-key work of art and engineering that you don't have to buy a real roof for. Though the Bugatti is without doubt far more expensive than this AC Cobra look-alike with a vacuum cleaner.
This Weineck is nothing special beyond being assembled by a real manufacturing house. I guess this thing is the logical progression of drag racing becoming popular in Europe.

Seriously with race gas and with my nitrous setup on my cobra I could make almost 850hp off a small block, its not that impressive. You can buy 800+hp big blocks right out of a catalog without a blower.
Plus anything over 400hp is crazy fast in a cobra you don't need any more then that to kill yourself. You even tap the trottle in a corner at the wrong time and your spinning.

Now lets put this into some sort of perspective:
Weineck Cobra
Type: V8
Displacement: 12900 cc
Horsepower: 1100 bhp @ 7000 rpm
Torque: 1300 lb ft @ 5600 rpm
Boogeratti Veyron
Type: W16, Quad-Turbocharged
Displacement in cc: 7993
Power bhp at RPM: 1001 / 6000
Torque lb-ft at RPM: 923 / 2200
So basically Boogeratti engineering is so much better than American muscle because it only took them 16 cyclinders (added [4] 4 cyclinder engines from jetta lineup), 8.0L engine (again they took [4] 2.0L engines the jetta lineup), and 4 turbochargers (they had a few leftover S4 turbochargers laying around). Yes I see where the engineering came from
P.S. weighing in at 4162 lbs. is like an Olympic runner weighing as much as Shaq. This car is a true supercar alright

Love the car, hate the hood bulge. I understand it has to be there for clearance issues, but it is just wrong.
