Default Moving from S2000 to 911 Cab

I have spent most of my time here as a spectator but just wanted to say I appreciate the info and spirited conversations. I am stepping into a 99' Porsche 911 Cab.

I am set to trade in the S but if you know anybody who is interested in a 2003 Silverstone with 8k on her, Lucid Rears and Heated Seats tell them to contact me ASAP...scheduled pick up day is next Wednesday.

Nice taste in cars. I can honestly say from experience you will find that you are making a lateral move. The '99 911 Cabriolet is not really a step up. Very nice car, but not better than the S. What is causing you to make the switch?

Just something different. You'll notice I didn't say stepping up, just stepping into a 911 Cab. I really enjoyed the S2000 and I will probably get another one some day. For me, I really enjoy having different vehicles every year or two and I only have room for one "extra" car and I have never owned any of the 911 models. What kind of car fan would I be if I never had a 911?

Thanks! I do appreciate it. It is a 99' Red over Tan with a Black Top. 8k miles...

The first thing I told the dealer was I need a short throw shift kit so they are adding that.

The sales rep was very knowledgable on the S2000 and his immediate comment was "that car has the best shifting tranny in the world, you might be disappointed with the 911's..."

You have heated seats in the S2000??? How did you get those? You will love the P-car...much more torquey and a little more room too. The engine note of the 911 is pretty nice as well.

For status the 911 is a step up. Porsche = money. (You're so Money )

I've driven a 911 C4S and liked it a lot. I don't like the shifter, maybe a short throw will help. I don't like the instruments (speedo) or the key placement. But no car is perfect.

I agree the tachometer should be in the middle. What I don't like about the speedometer is the needle range is shorter and smaller, so it might take longer to visually check your speed. I guess I've been spoiled by the S2000's digital dash. I can't stand the thought of going back to analog gauges!
