MSF Class
i took the course in rhode island and even it was a JOKE.
i'm not saying it was waste of time or unhelpful or anything,
don't get me wrong, i'm very glad that i took the course.
but instructors were so laid back,
they were smoking and making jokes,
even hitting on those 40- something wannabe biker ladies.
so many people fell and did stupid shiet,
but in the end they all passed.
of course in ri, your license comes out right after you take the course,
(no road test!)
and the law doesn't require riders to wear helmets.
i heard courses in nj are mad strict tho.

When I took the class, the instructors were quite strict. But when it came down to the final tests, they got a little more lenient. We had several ladies in the class. A couple of them had never ridden before. One of the guys had never ridden before either. No one failed the class. The ladies, for the most part, were a lot less competent on the bikes than the guys, but they did have the basics down. The instructors passed them (but barely). I really didn't like the whole testing idea. It's not needed for a license here; I was just taking the course to improve my riding skills and knowledge. Having that very stressful final riding test at the end sucked. If I were to do it again, I would just attend the classes and skip the final test.
