With a higher reading speedometer, your car is actually showing that it has more miles than you've actually traveled. I thought there was a lawsuit with a manufacturer about this at some point (I want to say Kia but can't remember).

Good point... if my speedo is reading 5% high I guess my warranty ends 5% sooner.... boooooo
I think that is why you get some wiggle room on the actual mileage for warranty to expire.
