I also think the TSX looks way better but it's hard to choose between a brand new car or a used one.

By any chance did she get bluetooth?
(I've wondered how Honda's bluetooth is, my Audi bluetooth can be flakey with my BB).

Civic SI is more nimble, lighter, quicker steering.

I'd still get a used 3 series for 21K though instead

I was torn between these 2 cars earlier this year and ended up with an 06 TSX 6MT. They're both good cars, but the TSX is a bit nicer. The only thing it lacks is an LSD, but you can add one (used a DC5R LSD in mine).
Insurance is less for a variety of reasons, heated seats are comfortable, and the dash isn't confusing. However, the Si is probably a bit more fun to drive out of the box.

You are 32 and still care what people think of you by what you drive? Last time I checked, the TSX doesn't scream "i'm Rich bitch."

I'm 40, I can afford to drive just about whatever I want and I drive a Civic Si. I'd rather have the 3 or 4 year newer car with no miles on it and a warranty.

Absolutely! Go with the brand new car if you intend on keeping it more than 5 years.

However, if you are looking a pure daily driver, why not a honda civic LX auto? You can get one for 16K. It uses regular gas, low on mantainence, and you can park it anywhere. It will make you appreciate the S2000 more when you hit it up on the weekends. If you want to upgrade the handling you can always buy a set of slightly used Si shocks and springs ($300) and upgrade to performance tires.

I've had some time in both and I really like the tsx. Just a nicer car overall, if I still have the S and had to choose between both I'd definitely get the tsx.
