Default New Hotness...

Mercedes SL 65 AMG

It is obvious that for Mercedes Benz there isn't a power limit. This is what the SL65 AMG and S65 AMG versions prove. The first one will appear in the spring of 2004, while the sedan (exclusive the long version) will be ready in the autumn of this year. The AMG specialists prepared the 5.5 liters V12 bi-turbo engine and the new engine has 6 liters (not 6.5 as the name would suggest). The maximum pressure of charging has been increased to 1.5 bar, and the injection system was modified. The result is miraculous: maximum power of 612 hp and 1000 Nm of torque, available at 2000 rpm. The transmission is made through a five speed automatic gearbox and the power is transmitted through the rear wheels. The design of the SL65 AMG is inspired from the limited edition AMG CLK-GTR. One of the unexpected elements of the coupe is the retractable hardtop with glass ceiling. The maximum speed is limited electronically to 250 km/h, but there are available version without electronic limiter (these must receive special legislative certificates from the European Community). The maximum speed for the 65 AMG versions was not published, but theoretically it is estimated around 335 km/h (in the case of special tires).

Hehe, "You: old and busted. Me: New hotness."

That car is pretty sick. 20+ psi boost pressures? Yow. I can't say I dig all the venty-things though. They're probably functional, but it just looks a little too....boy racer.

I sure wouldn't turn one down though

The SL65 AMG will have the M275 V12tt, displacing 6.05 liters. It's rated at 700bhp.

Wow! Mercedes engineers are working overtime. I hope that comes with traction control! I guess in about three years car magazines will have 4 digit numbers all over their covers!
BTW, what is the price?
