400hp and 0-60 in 4.2 seconds makes it the "Fastest Lotus ever"? I'm not sure that figure is correct since the Esprit hit 60 in 4.3 with "350hp" and the last 10-20 in production were rumored to be tweaked to 'over 400hp'.
Still not in love with the Evora and would probably pick the Cayman GTS or even a 4C.

Still, last I checked, 4.2s is faster than 4.3s.

Like I said, they're brilliant cars by all accounts. I just have a personal hangup against Toyota in general, Camry in particular. Yes, it's completely irrational, I fully recognize that.

Yes. It was such a great engine that you decided you had to change it by adding boost. Isn't that a contradiction of how "sweet" that H6 is?

Also, I'll echo that quickness != speed, and I'd rather know the 1/4 trap speed than the 0-60 time to know how fast a car will be.
At that weight with that power, it should be an awesome package, and you can still get it with a manual. Sounds like a win to me.

At those levels of power and weight 0-60 is more of a measure of traction, tire compound, and launch control programming than anything else. Evos were clocking 4ish second 0-60 in magazines with over 100 less crank hp.

I think I'd be more worried that my "sweet boxer 6" Porsche just lost to a car with a "Camry" motor.

Touché.
Actually, I prefer to think of it as just being few years ahead of the Porsche engineers in deciding not to be constrained by artificial ceilings (mandated 911 superiority). They're finally coming around to the idea of 400hp Caymans...

I like the current Evora and I do like the fact that isn't a Porsche is something different but it seems that they are streching that car too much. It's the same car. I don't see the "new" on it I don't like the front bumper at all.

Exterior is has more down force, car is 50lbs lighter, more power, better manual gear box, "nicer" interior. I am not a fan of the revised bumper either. Too much venting.

When I was shopping for a car, Jeff steered me toward boosted Caymans, and, My GOD, they were awesome. I just couldn't get over the fear of replacing an engine, so I went with a Corvette, but I can still acknowledge that the Cayman is the better car.
