New S4
I've said it before so I'll repeat myself here but this car's styling is about as inspiring as midget porn. 2nd gen S4's I like but the newbie sheetmetal is wretched. Way too much Passat for my tastes.
When I was speaking with a manager from a Texas Audi dealership a few months ago he was hyping the new S4 to be an M3 killer. He was saying it would have a high output V8 and would not be any heavier than the prior gen S4. Guess Audi couldn't make it happen. And the car is just not very attractive.
I hope they do not include that plastic bumper on the bottom of the door, that is hideous ! Who would think about putting a grey piece of plastic at the bottom of the doors (not a body kit, but it really ruins the lines of the car.
That new S4 is fast, but not as fast as the engine output would imply. This is probably because the engine is turbo'd, not NA. we are used to hearing about N/A engines with that kind of output, so we expect the associated lower 0-60. A turbo-charged engine is slower than a N/A engine making the same power. I assume a chip would increase output similar to the current S4, but it is a shame the car is so heavy given its already pushing power-robbing AWD. Nevertheless, an S4 owner would have one of the only twin-turbo V8 production cars in the world. Pretty cool, even if it isn't faster than anything else on the road.
Besides, this is a luxury-type sedan, not a sports car. Who cares if it is not faster than a Porsche?
