Thumbs up New Si vs. Used S2K

So heres the deal. About a year ago, I had an 07 Si coupe. Great car, but I totaled it by avoiding a deer. Here we are a year later, and I have the option of getting another brand new one (Taffy White this time), or a slightly used Berlina Black 06 S2K. The S2K has only 15000 mi on it and I can get it for around 26K out the door. Its pretty clean, only 2 tiny scratches on the rear bumper. Also, the driver seat looks kind of worn on the left side of it, like a big guy owned the car and jumped in and out of it.

So my question is, what would you do? Anybody experience any similar situation? Also, does the warranty carry over because of the low mileage?

*I know that posting this in a forum dedicated to the s2k that folks will tell me to just get the s2k. And thats cool, because I want one. Just want to hear some opinions. Oh, and I have a 97 civic hatch to drive in case of anything.

Thanks

warranty would be from the in service date... years or mileage, whichever comes first...

depends.. do you need a back seat, etc. Living with an S2000 as an only car can come with a lot of compromises.

if you already have a DD then I say get the S2000 but not the one you are talking about. Why buy an '06 that has Drive by wire? Maybe if you want traction control I could understand. But locally, one dealer was selling selling them new for $28k and some change. IMO, I'd say get the S2k but find an '04/'05 for a lower price then the one you are looking at. Lots of folks are getting out of them right now to get something newer so you should be able to find a well looked after (with service records) one for much less than the one you've found already.

Good point... But the reason I want to go to this dealer is because my brother has sold (by referral) more than 10 cars for them... So they want to give me a good deal and 26K OTD is pretty good. I don't plan on doing any crazy modding, so DBW and VSA are fine by me. I do see your point though, holding out for a better deal is never too bad a thing.

lol

I just love these threads.

You ask if anyone has ever experienced a similar situation? What exactly would that be?
Have I ever wanted to purchase a car? yes
Have I ever had to decide between two I like? yes
Have I ever asked a group of people I don't frigging know, who have no idea what my vehicular needs are, who have any idea how old I am, what my insurance is, or whom I don't particularily give a chit what their opinion might be? no, no, no, no and let me see....no.

I think you can lease an '08 now for $349. I'd do that. $26K seems a bit steep for a 2.5 year-old car that everyone gets for invoice (or below) now.
