Default Next Miata lighter with direct injection & FI?

[QUOTE]Low weight and greater efficiency might not be the sexiest of selling points for a sports car unless you're a devotee of Lotus founder Colin Chapman's "add lightness" philosophy. Thankfully for those less-is-more enthusiasts, however, Mazda has steadily adhered to that formula with its MX-5 Miata

They thought the current car was too conservative? I hope they aren't planning on making the car even uglier than the current one!

The way forward is smaller, lighter-weight, and more efficient.

Overwrought, overweight, overpriced EXCESS is OVER (I sincerely hope).

Cars need to get back to basics. You don't full leather, wood, airconditioned steering wheels, etc, etc. F all that crap.

I've always said that if the Miata had ~100HP more and was a bit lighter it could give the S a run for it's money. But because the Miata was so underpowered when I test drove one in 01 that I went with the S.

a similar thread or post within a thread was made a few months back and supposedly a mazda executive said that it would be slightly smaller in length and height than the NA miata but with more interior space all while weighing in at less than the NA8 (the slightly heavier first gen)
