Is nitrogen filled tire worthless?
I would just like to know what all of you think about nitrogen filled tires. What I mean by worthless is that the difference is so small that is not even worth it. I think they charged like $10 per tire or something like that.

Shoot- for 10.00 per tire it isn't worth it. My local place does it for free. It might be marginally better, and hold air for longer, but I doubt its really worth 40.00, or even 5.00 for that matter.

It's a bit more stable and might be worth a few bucks for all 4. At $10/tire, it's a total ripoff.

the only deal with nitrogen is its stable, therefor it doesnt fluctuate with temperature like compressed air does i.e. the colder it is the closer the molecules of the air are to keep the same energy/heat level which in turn means lower pressure. thats the only plus i see, but my car doesnt see winter so no go for me.

I got a speech from one of our customers who owns a local tire shop who said they have a nitro machine and can do it, but they said it's pretty worthless as a whole. It helps, but it's not worthwhile for any price.
I'd be curious what Jim at TireRack has to say about it.

i think costco does it for free but its a waste of time.. since you let all the air out of the tire.. it still has some air in it.. so pumping in 100% nitrogen is not possible unless u get the tire in a vacuum 1st
but even if u stay i just get as much nitrogen in it mix with air.. but as said above.. 78.1% by volume of Earth's atmosphere
