Yes, there are faster cars for less money. But, IMO, there is not a more beautiful, more reliable, better built performance car on the market for any price.

I would still kill to own one.

NSX is a great car....still

I don't lease cars, it's not in me. However if they sold for around $50-59K around the same price as a M3 I think I might go for the NSX. Sure it's not as fast as a Z06 etc.. But it's about on par with a 911 and it looks great, is well made, comfortable, and will last. I've read about NSXs with 160K+ miles.
Mine's at 145k at it still runs great! No squeaks, no rattles, excellent compression. There has been a couple with way over 200k that still run very, very strong. These cars were very well built.

Actually I just talked to a Toyota dealer last weekend and I was told it is already discontinued.
If you checked with the people who have to deal with Toyota Dealers you'd find out that Dealers hardly know anything about the Spyder. Last year they were told there would not be a 2004 model. There are people that have confirmations for ordered 2005 models.

But ... but ... but ... How do they (car dealers) expect to stay in business if they don't know anything about the products they sell? To be honest, I have not seen a new MR2-Spyder in a Toyota dealer since 2003, so for all I know, they may be special order only and not sold through the showrooms. By the way, I was told that the Celica was discontinued also, don't know if that is true or not since I am not (no longer) a Toyota person.

the mr2 a sports car...?? I think the celica is considered more of a sports car

Toyota is def doing something right though. My classmate did a research paper on them and lotsof interesting managment practices and empowerment and just tons of good stuff that other car companies could learn!!

After being sold around the world for more than 10 years with only minor changes I think it's safe to say that the R&D for the NSX has already been paid for and anything they sell now ESPECIALLY at that price is pure profit. The NSX is still sold because it's still a damn good car. Yes, it's outperformed by pretty much everything in it's price range but there aren't a whole lot of $90K sports cars that exactly suck; and I don't think there's anything that can touch it's reliability record in the "semi-exotic" category. Bottom line: It's an awesome car that costs too much. Besides, Honda NEEDS a halo car just like everybody else. If I had the cash laying around I'd get one and mod it aiming squarely at the 360...

yes but it doesn't sell well is my point....no one is buying it. Why not channel those efforts into another project.

Agreed...I also wish they would either bring out something new or stop producing it. Dragging on with no real improvements only tarnishes the reputation it once had...kind of like a pro sports athlete that does not know when to retire and just keeps playing.
