I think the NSX discussion has been played out one too many times.

That was a great article!

I remembered the first time I saw an NSX, it was black and they were taking it off of the truck and into the showroom at Bell Rd. Acura in Phoenix. Me and my friend were left in aww. Still is my dream car to this day.

I didn't catch my first glimpse of the car until the 1992 L.A. auto show (at least I was only 11)

the car was also on a turnstile rotating in all its glory
one of the things that impressed me most was the interior; the swooping center console was the coolest thing ever...it sucks that they never unlocked the car for public "test-sittings" during its entire production run

Nice article, but a couple of errors:

Each car was hand-built by a highly skilled team of technicians at the NSX specific Tochigi facility. Production was limited to a maximum of 25 vehicles per day. At $65,000, the NSX is the most expensive Japanese car in history
You can option an LS430 over $70k, and the SC430 starts at $66k, and the LX430 at $68k. If you had said that at $89k it was the most expensive Japanese car in history, you'd be more right. Unless you meant "most expensive up until then."

[QUOTE]The 1991 BMW 850i was the most expensive and exotic BMW ever made. The motor was a 296-horsepower 332 ft. lbs. of torque, 5.0-liter V12 matched to a six speed manual or 5 speed automatic transmission. It went from 0-60 in an anemic 7.4 seconds and eventually completed the standing

I did, thanks for the correction. (Article will be updated shortly)

[QUOTE]The BMW 850 Csi was much more capable, and more expensive.

I thought it was only the 850i in '91. I believe the Csi came out after '91, but I may be mistaken on that one.
Ah, it may have. I thought you again meant "of all time," not "up until then." I forgot about the Z8, as well.

Whatever, minor discrepancies aside, it really was a cool article.

I couldn't care less about the NSX since I don't fit in it. Stupid low roof line.

The NSX was an amazing car, i drool over one every time i see them. the NSX would have been THE it car had they tried to compete with the m3's,boxster s',slk32/55, s4's etc.....they just charged a little to much for them, had they dropped the price 8k it would have sold like crazy. a friend of mines dad had one....since then hes owned a viper gts, 550marnelo and a gallardo and he still says "Man that nsx was an awsome car, such an overall well designed car".
