NSX test mule?

all,
just because there are s2000 panels does not mean it is based on the S2000.
It's just a rolling test mule to test the powertrain and maybe suspension. They make their basic frame, and put body panels on it...in this case from an S2000. Then they make custom panels to fill in gaps...in this case the extended wheelbase with the custom roof.
It is just about certain they're not using the S2000 rear end (to the poster who was wondering how they used the AP2 rear end) and I'm sure the diff is totally different, too.

Covering the test vehicle in S2000 skin could just as much distort what the car is actually going to be as confirm what it might be.
Isn't it interesting, though, that Honda brought it to the 'Ring for all the world to see? Obviously they intended for spy shots to get taken - nobody goes to the Ring for secrecy. I like this sort of Honda better, rather than trying to keep everything ultra-secret all the time.

According to the car's registration, it has a 5.0L engine...
I think it's likely that it's just a drivetrain mule.

5.0L V10 is what Honda really needs to bring it on.
