odd question about buying a used car
So my friend recently purchased a 98 Trans Am convertible. I went and checked it out with him and it had about 60,000 miles on it. we drove it, he drove it another day and really liked it, ended up buying it. its from a used car dealership which gave him a 1 month warranty and such.
The first night we drove it 50 miles home and the next morning it died at work - water pump blew. They replaced it for him. Now he is having some sort of issue with the alternator and piston ring apparently.
He's starting to regret buying the car, it seemed in good shape but he doesn't want to keep the car if these types of things are failing within the first week.
Question is, has anyone ever returned the car back to the dealer for such reasons? is this possible? Ive personally never heard of this situation so I would have no clue what to think. He said there wasnt any sort of clause in the bill of sale regarding this. Any input is appreciated!

If they are nice people, maybe they'll take it back. But being a used car lot, it doesn't seem very likely
Most places have used cars sold "As is," so your friend is lucky to even have a one month warranty! But, it is not likely your friend can return the car since the "as is" rule is going to back them up legally.
