Oh, we believe you! You've been a bastion of factual statements thus far.

I might add, the amazing thing about FDs is how little $$ it takes to get into the 11s, assuming you know how to launch the car....there are many owners on rx7club with stock turbos in the 11s, even low 11s...how many other cars, with a budget of less than $20k, can make that claim?

these cars are quick, they are light, they are agile, and they have tremendous potential...people who hate on them haven't had the experience

I like HOT cars. I've only owned 1 car with AC and funny enough it was an '88 RX-7.

believe it or not, I've rolled several 600s, and won...literbikes, forget it, but the "power to weight" argument doesn't hold much water during a 70-120 mph freeway roll because, as you approach triple digits, it's all about Cd and hp; the FD Cd is excellent, while bikes suck
Hmmm... you didn't mention that when you said how your bike would destroy all those other cars in the other thread. So now suddenly the 70-120 is the measuring stick for performance?

P.S. I don't even ride a bike

Reliable, too, and running 11s! Amazing!

Those cars are just bulletproof when you mod them to go from their stock mid-13s 1/4 mile all the way down to high 11s 1/4 mile! Just add a downpipe and GO!

the FD smokes cars costing two and three times as much with limited mods (and looks damn good doing it) and was picked over the NSX in at least one track shootout
Just so you know, there's such a thing as inflation rate. A $35K RX-7 in 1992 (think that's when it came out) is about $60K in 2008. About the $$ same as a Cayman S, but isn't nearly as well equipped.

I actually really like the FD, one of my all-time favorite cars. If I had an extra $25K or so to do one up right as a third car, I would.

Okay, the RX-7 is a beast. I think we can close this one now.
