Yeah, cool, but it's not like most of the "found in a barn" stories. I'm sure he paid some serious money for it. Not like those "found and original Porsche 916 in a barn and bought it for $50.00 because the guy thought it was a VW" kind of stories that float around the newsgroups from time to time.

Wow!, Here's a sad one: There was a guy in Cedar Rapids Iowa who had 2 Mercedes gullwings and when he died his family, not knowing what they had, simply let them rot in a barn. They were sold at an estate sale years later in unrestorable condition.

One of our clients died leaving a small collection of antique but mostly obscure cars. Everyone thought that the 1916 Ohio Electric in near showroom condition would be worth a fortune. It had been in storage for almost 80 years, but was worth under $10,000.
The collection also included 1930s American cars and others. The most valuable in the lot was a 1952 MG-TD.
It just goes to show how things aren't always what they seem. We were sure that collection was worth a fortune. We were disappointed by the values.
