Default online purchasing

Found one of those too good to be true deals on an NSX and decided to talk to the guy. Sent & received a couple emails. Car belonged to a brother who died and he wants to get rid of it. Asking $7700 for a '95 w/ 54k miles. Saw on Autotrader. Never purchased online so I'm a bit sceptical but he said I would pay through triple-deal-safe-pay. He'll have it shipped to me, they hold the money. I have 7 days to test/inspect vehicle and then if all is ok he gets the transfer. Company website looks legit and it sounds safe for me but I can't help but feel a little too lucky. Am I being blessed or duped? Any input will help. There is a clock on this deal.

ask yourself if ANYONE legit would sell a 95 NSX for 7700...... They are still worth 30k+

I've posted the same thing time and time again in other threads...

Shipping a car costs hundreds if not thousands of dollars depending on distance.
If you dont like the car, then there is thousands to ship it back
He'll have lost all the money he "made" in shipping alone.

Dont be stupid

Scam. It will be a fake escrow service. I suspect if you do a nationwide autotrader search you will find another NSX with the same pictures.

Safepay is Nigerian for SUCKER!

It's so fake. Tell him you have a friend in the area whereever it is who wants to come check it out.

Suddenly he won't be available or some other BS.

Ok, does anyone know for a fact that this is a fake company? I was the first one to doubt this, but my parents used to buy, repair, and sell classic muscle cars all the time. 99% of the time, too good to be true is just that. But I have still seen some killer cars that were practically given away. Unlikely, but it does happen. I don't want to get screwed, but I don't want to miss an awesome opportunity either. He just e-mailed me his phone number and the forms for payment from the escrow company with account number and a Dublin Bank address. If he's scamming, he's thorough. I even checked out the safepay website. Are you guys saying it's bogus because that's what it sounds like? Or does anyone actually know for certain? Thanks guys.

The fact that it's a Dublin Bank should be sure enough sign for you to accept that it's a scam.

If you are that desperate to give away your money, let me give you my address and you can mail me the check instead. I'll take it and give you nothing in return, but at least I'll admit it beforehand.

Not to direct this at you, teamxcelap2, but I swear, are people unable to google things themselves anymore?

Look up SafePay. Yes the company name itself is real, but everything you find with a little searching is posts about people asking if it's a scam or not and they ALL say the same things you are now "Shipping of the car, they want me to use this particular escrow, wire money, blah blah blah"

WTF are you thinking getting a 30k car for pennies on the dollar from Dublin? Shipped for Free?? Return shipping if you arent happy with it??

Use your head.

There was actually a news article about Escrow Services and this exact "scam" that you are talking about... I don't remember what all was in the article, it was awhile back, and I just glanced over it... but they look really legitimate/complex, when in reality it is a straight up scam...

My uncle did buy a '92 NSX for $15,000 in '93 though... His best friend, a doctor, was getting a divorce... pretty much his wife was trying to take him for half of everything he owned, so he just pawned everything off way cheap to screw her over... lol

I think there was a post on s2ki recently in OT that the company's name was the same, if not the scam was EXACTLY what you are telling us.

I know you want it to be true, but it isn't.
