Picked up my new ride today
Picked up '08 silver/black with comp gray wheels, 2LT, Z51, and six-speed manual this afternoon from Lewis Chevrolet in Canton, TX. I only have 80 miles on her, so she's still getting broken in.
This car buying experience was unreal. I tried to buy a 500 mile used '08 C6 from a rich guy here in DFW who didn't drive it. Before I could finalize the deal, he agreed to sell it back to the dealership he bought it from, Lewis Chevrolet. Well, he told me to call and speak with Henry Lewis and he'll cut me a deal on that car or a new one ordered to my specs. I disregard he suggestion.
Well, time rolls around and a sales guy I was trying to work with just keeps blowing me off, not calling me back, blah, blah, so I decide to call Henry Lewis. I kid you not, within 3 minutes of having him on the phone he quoted me a price that is as good as any deal I could find on Corvetteforum, around town, on the internet, the whole nine yards in my couple months of research.
We agree on a price for a new car ordered to my specs, he fills out a sales order form, faxes it to me, I sign it, fax it back, call in a $400 deposit on my credit card and he tells me he'll call me when it comes in. He calls me today and says a shiny new silver Corvette is here for me.
I drive out to the dealership with my wife and parents, car is sitting there at the front with 1 mile on it in perfect condition. I drive it around the block, meet Henry Lewis, sit down at his desk, sign a few forms, write him a check, he gives me a 1923 silver dollar (something he always does for his new customers and it comes with a neat story), shake his hand, and I'm gone. He gave me his business card with something scribbled on the back to get a free tank of premium gas down the street as he doesn't want anyone to drive it but me.
It was the most unbelievably easy car purchase I've ever had in my life. Hell, it was easier than buying electronics at Best Buy. Unreal.
Anyway, here's the pics for you guys who are still with me. Pics aren't good, but it's all I got right now.

CONGRATS MAN! That's exactly what I would've got, well perhaps different rims but def that color combo and tranny. I know you've been pining for this for a while.
Damn, that is an unreal car buying experience, almost makes someone want to buy one out of state.

Don't let stack know you bought a silver car. Looks good, congrats!
Congrats. Shame about the color, but congrats.
Now go do your modding and post a clip of the exhaust sound.
