Poll - EVO or STI?

I'm not an S2000 owner, but I am considering it along with the Evo and STi. I've driven the S and the STi, but not the Evo. At this point I'm leaning toward the STi.
One thing that never seems to come up in these Evo vs STi debates is reliability. It seems to me that most, if not all of the STi's (very) relative shortcomings can be modded out if desired. How are you going to mod Mitsubishi's build quality out of the Evo?
Neither car is going to have the reliability of a n/a Honda, but for K I want something reasonably robust. I'll be the first to admit that I have little personal experience with either marque, but Sube seems like a much better medium/long term bet to me. Considering how close the Evo and STi are in performance, I think that's a major issue.

Neither.
I had an '06 STI and I liked it a lot. It was a really solid car, good performance.
I like the (supposed, never driven one) handling and (definite) performance and moddability of the EVO a lot better though, and the VIII and IX are better looking than the STI.
So, I considered the EVO before I bought the STI; however I owned a Mitsubishi before, and they are not built well, nor do the dealers support the cars very well. Bits of the interior fell off, paint peeling, the driver's side seat back came loose (and I was the only one who ever drove the car, so it never moved!) and a weird Air Bag light that would come on when it was rainy didn't say much to me in terms of inspiring confidence in purchasing a tarted-up Lancer for $35K.
Of the new crop, the EVO is a complete pig with an unproven engine, and it's still a Mitsubishi (I don't think they can do anything about that part) and the STI is a fugly mini-SUV-looking wagon thing.
I think you should buy an S2000 instead.

The new STI is complete trash. The new concept is trash. Cosmetically especially, but the driving dynamics are worse then the original and 2nd year model. Previously, I would have taken an STI over the EVO by a slim margin, but now it's not even a contest.

I way prefer the new looks over the old styling as well.
