Before you go saying that the boxster is not a porsche. You need to read up on your history. The 356 which was the first porsche ever builld and was configured like the boxster.
The Boxster has the engine in front of the rear axle, commonly called mid-engine; the 356 had the engine behind the rear axle, commonly called rear-engine.

I just learned something. The first Porsche was called 356 and was apparently mid-engine. The production 356 we all lust after was, however, rear-engine.

The 356 is the first sports car to bear the Porsche name.

The Boxster S from 05 and up are 987's 3.2 liter 280 hp. Far different beast than the 986 and will certainly out perform the S2K straight line or otherwise.

well, with all that figured out and someone got a lesson on when is the right time for them to "teach" someone a lesson,

I'm thinking obviously this guy is buying a used ellis or boxster instead of buying a new s2000, since the price seems to be the majority of the concern.

so, if the price is a big thing, you must think about the long term cost, like insurance, parts, warranty costs, etc.

because those german parts aren't cheap.

[QUOTE=F355FTS,Jun 29 2007, 12:29 PM] I hate to say it but the S2K is far superior to the boxster.

If it has the almost round headlights and not the tear drop or pear shaped style of the 996 or 911 as most know it as. It is a 987.

I looked at the site you provided in an earlier post and that is a 987S. With 8k miles for 39k go for it. Just remember it will cost more to maintain and insure.
