fast foward to 18s: white S2000 handled perfectly. GT4, not so much.

I saw that earlier on Yahoo and noticed the same thing.

I see lots of accident videos at that very same corner all over YouTube. I wonder which corner it is and what makes it so tough.

This is proof of nothing. The S2000 had already slowed, GT4 was still hauling butt. Seems like there was probably some water or oil down from the first crash, nothing you can do when you're going that fast except hang on for the ride.

I really hope this is a troll post. It is proof of nothing and the Cayman was going MUCH faster, so this is irrelevant.

If I'm recalling correctly from my handful of laps there, this is the corner with a big drop right before the braking zone - hard to see, but very apparent when driving. We had a Z4 3.0si rental, and on my last lap I decided to keep the gas pinned through the "dip" at ~100mph... followed by catching a bit of air, slamming on the brakes upon landing, and just barely keeping it on the track in an ugly, slow, understeer-happy save of a corner. Few times have I been as scared yet having so much fun, my friend and I couldn't stop laughing at my heavy-on-courage, light-on-intelligence-and-speed driving at that particular moment.

The video title says oil/water spill. So yeah, completely pointless point that the OP was trying to make. Really hope it was just a troll post and not serious...

yes... it's a tongue in cheek post. Well aware that GT4 is a pretty awesome track weapon. It's faster than many modern days exotics. I figured that was quite obvious with the flame suit comment.

Haha fair enough.

You could continue this thread by pointing out that the Cayman is mid-engined, which could have caused the rear end to come out, at which point someone will chime in that the S2k is also mid-engined, and then we could talk about the validity/relevance of that statement for a few more pages...

The BMW was laying fluid all over the track which caused his rear wheels to slide, and all the others behind him. The S2000 was just driving slower hence he made it out safely.

S2K was going much slower. I bet he saw the 3 series go off and stayed more towards the inside of the track. Looked like a car width away from the edge of the track. The GT4 obviously had no idea what happened as he was flying and was already way wide in the coolant. Being mid engine has nothing to do with anything in this scenario.
