**** the other cars. Look for a 01 or 02 911 turbo with <12k miles. You *might* be able to find one -- or you may have to up the ante to 75k or so.
Buy a second set of wheels and some blizzaks.
It is the perfect daily driver. You will lose 12-15k in value over the next 4 years. You can get the extended warranty. They are generally very reliable.

at that price if you are not willing to even look at a C6/Z06. Theonly other car I would have would be the 01-02 turbo...
Don't get the Z, power delivery was mediocre at best and I personally didn't like the handling at all. It also depreciated like mad here in SD as the market got oversaturated real fast. I had mine for a year and a half and took quite a hit on it even though I drove to LA to get the best deal I could on trade in. I would have sold it my self to get more $ back but at the time there were 106 of them for sale on autotrader within 25 miles of my zip code.
All the above options are worthy, make sure you at least go test drive a Porsche so you know what you're passing up if you go another route.
I think that the M3 sounds good for you, It fits a lot of what you seem to want, particularly if you get the SMG. I just hate the way the exhaust sounds on the American model.
Good luck and have fun shopping.

My 2 cents, if you are looking for something sporty and reliable without too high maintenance costs, the new IS350 sounds promising. Or maybe you can find a nice NSX since production is ending, I know they had a good lease deal going. Definitely something like the above mentioned as opposed to a Vette, BMW, or Porsche.
