Question for Popeye
[QUOTE=rockville,Oct 9 2009, 07:29 PM]Sliver,
Do you actually have an opinion on this or are you just hoping to score some points?
I think you, like Warren have it out for me because I've caught both of you saying some things that just make you go HUH?

Warren, he doen't get upset when peopel talk down about domestics, he gets upset when they talk down about domestics using misinformation. Problem is, rockville tends to know a lot, lol.
And I tend to be contrarian by nature as well, like I'm not a huge believer in the historical quality of BMW interiors for instance.
Plain and true, if people are going to blow things out of proportion, they're gonna get checked, even when it's miswritten/misread like my comment about forced induction on the ford gt which someone annoyingly uses in their sig.
The rhetoric of domestics are crap while japanese manufacturers are perfect is getting old, I mean compare the responses on my toyota floor mat thread vs. this gm thread; one actually killed/injured people.

Unless you can provide a scenario in which those weights could cause the brakes to malfunction, your argument makes no more sense than saying "painting your calipers yellow is a safety issue because calipers = brakes and brakes = safety".
What's the worst that can happen? The weights might fall off? The calipers work fine without the weights -- GM shipped the cars that way, after all.
Is that a euphemism for "I realize my argument is logically indefensible but my self-esteem can't bear admitting it."

Oh FFS I chose to end my side of the argument that's all.
On many past posts I have found myself agreeing with your opinon,on this issue I don't

First, I love Honda. I've had one Honda in the driveway since 1989. There have been times when i've had two (like now) and as many as three at once (last year). My motorcycles were Honda, my lawnmover has either been a Honda or powered by Honda. Honda makes a great car and for me is incredible on the repair per mileage driven chart.
Dampening brakes with mass doesn't bother me. It's a little bush league but what Honda has done with my Civic SI is also bush league. The DBW and fuel map in this car will one day get me in a crash. It has been to looked at a few times by dealers. Honda supposedly fixed the issue and issued a reflash but it didn't do much. In the morning my car when cold bucks like a Bronco. I can also fool the ECU to not give me throttle. A few times i pulled into traffic and couldn't go anywhere unitl i let my foot off the accelerator a few seconds. Honda says this is "normal." That's a real safety issue.
The moral of the story is all car companies have their problems and half-assed fixes.

Popeye,
While I disagree with you on this point, I don't find you to be rude or disrespectful. Please don't take any of my posts in this thread to be anything other than simply disagreeing with you.

One thing about it whether those wheel weights are a safety issue or not it sure shows how GM brings on another half-assed solution to a problem . Is it any wonder their customers are leaving by the droves?
I am glad u have finally shut up and realized that I and CR are Right about GM and it is especially a bad choice after getting Spoiled by Honda reliability.

I certainly would love to see your suspension article. Regardless of it's contents only someone completely ignorant of cars would think to suggest that Honda invented double A arm suspension in the 1980s. For a car person that's inexcusable stupidity.
