R8 OR 997 GT3?

The only way an R8 becomes remotely interesting is if it indeed comes with a Lambo V10. Other than that...its rumored performance for what it looks like makes the R8 a cliche "all show, no go" car. A car that looks like the R8 needs to be doing 3.8-4.0 60s and 12s in the quarter, especially for the price.
Can you imagine the R8 driver getting smoked every which way from Evo's and STi's driven by kids? If I was the R8 driver after that happened to me, I would be kicking myself in the nuts for not going with a real German sports car....Porsche, there is no substitute.

You see the AM V8 costs similar and is probably slower, yet it selling well. Also Audi is not trying to sell 30K units a year, they can afford to price it high, they don't have to price it to sell like a Corvette.
I'm sure there are some people who will be turned off by a mere 420hp V8 that's true. However look at the SL Benz it was selling-out with just over 300hp V8 and 4000 lbs. Many people don't care much about the performance and 0-60 is not as important as the looks/sex appeal.
for most people who voted on this thread, the GT3 is the better (racier) car, but then we're not buying these types of cars and the market will show that the AM V8 or the SL550 or the R8 will sell a lot more units than the GT3.
