Give me $15000, I promise "stock Mustang GT" with that engine in it won't be able tell how many car lenghts I'll beat him by. Maybe we'll count it by semi truck lenghts.
Matt.

Ford is an American company and has a bigger market share in (you guessed it) america. What's its market share in Japan by the way?

25 years ago Honda probably sold few if any cars in the US. Every year they sell more and more. All of Hondas market share comes out of whos hide? Yep Ford/GM/DC.

Honda probably sells as many "cars" as Ford in the US. Ford sells a lot of Trucks and SUVs.

My point is why don't you look at Fords market share over the past 25 years and also at Hondas market share. You will see two lines one going up and one going down.

Ford has an average incentive spending of $4000/vehicle versus to Hondas average of $250/vehicle.

I understand your point NoReally, but there are other ways to look at it. From my perspective I like the fact that Honda created an all new 9000rpm, 120hp/litre, NA engine and sold it as original equipment in their sports car, not a $15,000 upgrade. If you could order the mustang new with that engine minus the cost of the standard engine it would be more worthwhile.

$15000 for 160 hp more, I would in no way spend $15000 on my car to achieve that. That seems absurd to me and to compare ford to honda and say one is better than the other is completely ignorant. Thats like saying an apple is better than an orange, they cannot even compare. Not to mention I would not insult my car to the point of comparing it with a ford. If you are so impressed with fords achievements than I encourage you to buy one.

lol, 15k for 160 hp. I agree with the apples to oranges approach. From some who just entered the american car market, i can tell you that i will never go back...., unless i have lots of money. I bought a 1971 L48 corvette with 270hp. With 4500 in labor and parts, i had the engine completely rebuilt and is now pushing over 430hp at the crank. Smaller engines are just so hard to get tuned right, and make lots of useable power. Don't get me wrong, i love my s2000, and it would tear the vette up on an Auto X, and the vette handles pretty well...... What people fail to realize is that honda does offer high performance crate engines..... the K series in the rsx t-s, and the F20c in our cars..... run that up against there equivilant brethern available from american car manufactures.... how much power do they make from the same displacement???? Why doesn't honda offer a factory 350hp 2.xl 4cyl?? Because if you want 350hp then you need to buy a bigger engine..... not to be knocken on the sc and turbo'd S2000's out there Lots of love for you guys! Anyhow... i don't know where the hell this is going and i'm done getting my point across.... what ever it was... lol

Mustang GT = $22k
Engine upgrade = $15k
total = $37k

Here's the better path:
Mustang Cobra = $33k
$1500 in mods = faster than that POS GT above and has better handling.

It's called a turbo kit and it's cheaper...but it's not sold by Honda.
