Default Replaced the S2k...

Well I turned in my s2k two weeks ago before I left for a vacation in Florida and I was pretty sad to see it go. While I was in Sarasota, the temp dropped to about 50 degrees for a day, so I did a little car shopping that day. After taking out an SL600, E55, CLK55, and turning down an offer to take out one of their four CL65's, I asked them to take the SLK55 out of the showroom for a test drive. Long story short, I fell in love with the car and bought it that day. The only problem is, my trade-in was 1000 miles away in cincinnati, so I am taking a 2000 mile roadtrip next week to trade in my E320 CDI and pick up my Mars Red SLK55. I will be sure to post my impressions of the car, along with a bunch of pics from the trip. It is no '02 S2k, but I think it should be a fun little car.

Brian?

Dude, have you been holding out on us with winning the lottery or something? I mean, Holy Sh&%! Nice choice; I want to drive it!

Hey Gary. I decided to 'split' the car with my dad. It is going to stay with him so it doesn't get messed with at my house, but I will share the payments with him in return for the use of the car. It seemed like the best option for me at this point.

And sure, I'll let you drive it, as long as you guys let me bring it to S2k events!

Awesome!

As far as I am concerned, you have a permanent standing invitation to any S2000 event.

You really did make a great choice. I have thought about that car too. I love the new styling, the new engine and the long-overdue manual!

I wouldn't really say that. Yes, it may be more comfortable, more luxurious, more powerful, and have more cache, but I have yet to drive a car that can make my palms sweat like the S2k could. I have driven many cars, from my old toyota corolla (the off-roader ) to Italian Exotics, and nothing could deliver the seat of your pants thrills of the S2000. In my mind, the S2000 is one of the best pure sports cars ever built.

Oh, and does anyone know of any Mercedes communities? I tried mbworld, but my registration didn't work and they didn't seem to have an active community. Are there any good forums that also support meets and events like s2ki does?

Wow, where is this Merc dealer in Sarasota, I need to swing by one day. They let you take out $130k SL600, and they were going to let you drive a $178k CL65?? Sounds like a fun day.

Congrats on the SLK55, looks like a blast.
