Yeah, I was really surprised by the offer to drive the 65, and actually the sticker on it was just under $200k. They also had two maybach 62's and even a CLS500.

No manual for the AMG model. Only comes with a nice automatic.

I have seen a red SLK350 parking in a lot, it looks so nice. I am sure your 55 AMG is even better. Congrats.

Oh, and does anyone know of any Mercedes communities? I tried mbworld, but my registration didn't work and they didn't seem to have an active community. Are there any good forums that also support meets and events like s2ki does?
This one's the best forum:

For meets, try this:

Thanks for the sites.

...wow- Mercedes has to be the least active community I have ever seen. There were less than a dozen threads ever in some of those regions.

Maybe I will just have to pop that little three-pointed star off the front and replace it with a big old 'H' so I can come to the s2k events

the SLK55!! holy .....
that's awesome, I would only think of a SLK350 as an equal replacement to a S2K.
the SLK55 is insant!....(you can buy a Porsche with that kind of price)

I wouldn't really say that. Yes, it may be more comfortable, more luxurious, more powerful, and have more cache, but I have yet to drive a car that can make my palms sweat like the S2k could. I have driven many cars, from my old toyota corolla (the off-roader ) to Italian Exotics, and nothing could deliver the seat of your pants thrills of the S2000. In my mind, the S2000 is one of the best pure sports cars ever built.
indeed!
