what defines nicer? it certainly doesn't have better build quality. it isn't anymore or less reliable. the interior is nowhere close to the M3's.... the NSX handles better. the M3 is far faster in either form. so if nicer means better handling then yes, the NSX is nicer... but overall i'd say the M3 is the "better" car.

the M3 is quite a bit faster.... trust me, i came from the BMW world and have a lot of experience in an NSX, furthermore, the NSX is very inconsistent, it's acceleration times can vary by over .5 seconds from one year to the next. the M3 will consistently pull 0-60's of 4.6-4.8, and quarter from 13.1-13.4. furthermore, the M3 has a better top end, and an even much better low end than the NSX could ever dream of. depending on what supercharger you go with for the M3 you are doing between 11.0 and 12.0 in the quarter. i've yet to see any NSX break 12's. i am sure there are quite a few... but i personally, have yet to see one. personally, i'd still take a late model NSX over an M3.... but the facts remain. the M3 is the superior car... but thats a given, its 10 years newer. it isnt a fair comparison, but if you ARE comparing, the M3 wins. unless we are in japan. their NSX's are a shitload faster for some reason.

Sorry, but the numbers don't bear it out. There have been numerous tests, and from my personal experience as I have driven & almost gotten an NSX as my personal car. The NSX is like the S2000 in that you rev to get hp. I can see that the variation in the acceleration as the NSX depending on year had different hp. a hp bump from 270-290 hp, different transmission, bigger, wider rubber, etc But the late model NSX's had 290 hp with 6 speed tranny.
I have no doubt that the M3 has better top end as it has more hp, and on the bottom end you have more tq. (224 vs 260+ ft.-lbs.) but a properly driven NSX will give an M3 more than a run for it's money. Not talking freeway roll ons, but straight 1/4 mile runs if the driver is good enough to utilize the revs correctly, and take advantage of it's lighter weight. Car & Driver has gotten a 12.9, and several others are in the low 13's range. That's M3 territory, and I have had extensive experience with the M3 as well.

I've driven a couple NSXs and they're extremely fun cars - they have a similar overall feel to the S2000, although in a smoother less "raw" manner.
I haven't driven the M3, but with the weight difference I suspect the driving experience is quite different from what you're used to in the S2000.
I suggest you test drive both, and go with whichever one gives you the most driving enjoyment. Then worry about a SC after that. (I don't know anything about SC'ed M3s, but NSXes with Comptech SCs tend to be fairly reliable based on my reading on NSXPrime.)

NSX all the way. Better looking (I assume you'll change out wheels and tires and lower it), rarer, better handling, and practically as fast. It also sounds a LOT better - that induction sound right behind your head is amazing. The M3 doesn't really give much aural pleasure...
