Default S2000 ex-owners

I'll be moving on from the S2000, with this week most likely being my final one driving the Honda. I thought it would be interesting to start a thread for ex-owners of the S2000. It seems that there are quiet a few folks who no longer own the S2000 that still participate in this great s2ki forum.

I'd like to know:
Model year
Duration of ownership
What you miss about the S
What you don't miss about the S
Your new ride

I'll start.

MY01, MY05

2 yrs, 8 mos (MY01); 2yrs, 11 mos (MY05)

I'll miss the combination of rifle bolt shifting action and the pleasure of caning every last rpm out of the motor. The S2000 is such an enjoyable car on the street because all-out acceleration in the first three gears can be sampled so often.

I won't miss the mute steering and don't miss the hassle of a plastic rear window (MY01).

My new ride is an Evo IX MR with 300whp and coilovers.

'05 S2000
Owned for about 2.5 years, 29k miles from new.

Miss: The nimble handling, go-kart feel, nice shift action, dropping the top on sunny days, engine sound in VTEC

Don't miss: Small, rough ride, not enough power, timing chain tensioner noise,

New ride is '08 C6 with IS300 as daily driver.

Man, that's the combo right there.

I had an '02 for 30,000 miles and an '04 for 20,000 miles. I, actually, drove my former '04 recently (I sold it to a co-worker who was hoping I'd like to buy it back) and didn't feel much nostalgia. I miss having a "fun" car (my '07 FX35 RWD sport is a great daily driver), but I don't want another S2000. I think QUIKAG hit it mostly on the head. Too small, cramped, rough, loud, and slow to me now.

Had it for two years.
I miss its tight driving experience and sexy figure.
I don't miss all the warranty repairs, including three covered 2nd gear fixes, and lame dealer servicing that had me nervous after 16K miles. The plastic rear window sucked too.
I'm in a '06 330i now, with a '03 Z06 in between, but I'm itching to get back into a harder-core sporting machine. I probably should STFU and buy a year-old Cayman S but mid/high $50K price still feels steep.

2002 Sebring Silver w/ Black Interior

July 2005 - January 2008

I miss looking at it, the wheels, the stance, the front lip, the profile. I always parked it in such a way so that I could see it out my office window. Driving around at 8/10ths on sleepy backroads with a special female friend in the passenger seat at 10 PM under the stars.

I can't think of anything significant that I do not miss. Maybe the test pipe, but that has nothing to do with the S2000ness.

Specialized Crosstrail Pro . Hey, at least the insurance is cheaper...

MY 2003

Owned 2/2003-6/2007

Loved the top down, 9K RPM, and light feel.
Miss the distinctive shape and people (in VT) asking what kind of car it was. Zero repair work.

Don't miss 2nd gear grind, rough ride, and new rear tires every 10K

Now driving an E46 M3 and 1991 Civic hatch as winter driver......

MY 2001
Purchased new april 2002, sold august 2007 with 61kms
Silverstone, red interior.

Loved the go cart feel, the quick steering. Drove the hell out of it...can't think of one ride where I didn't redline at least two gears. I am addicted to the sound of an engine at high rev and the 9,000 rpm AP1 didn't disappoint.

I miss the light feel of the car and the shifter and also being able to go all out often through the first couple of gears on the street.

Don't miss the cramped interior. The older I became the tighter it seemed...Don't miss the top sticking up from behind me when it was down. The radio....replacing tires every 18k.

My new ride is a C5 Vert (oh yeah...now I do miss the power top! ) and an FJ Cruiser.
