S2000 or Hyundai Genesis 2.0 T

S2000 all the way. However, the new 2013 Genesis 2.0T has 274 hp and 275 ft-lbs vs 210 hp and 223 ft-lbs of the previous version so it will feel substantially quicker than the previous version. It's probably a far better daily driver car that is sporty - it just won't be nearly as hardcore or fun as the S2000 for most enthusiasts.

I pulled away from a v6 gen coupe in my S (not sure if he backed off or they are just that slow) but that car has 60 hp more than the S. They are just heavy and really Hyundai does not have the racing history that Honda does. Really it comes down to whats most important. The S will be more fun to drive and just feel better than the gen because its a bespoke sports car. Hyundai just lacks the history to really build a great sports car. They are getting better but its just not there. However the Hyundai would have a warrenty and be a brand new car so there is peace of mind with that. The S2000 is a very reliable car if its been taken care of but that kinda goes for any car right? Best thing to do is drive a few s2000's and a few Gensis coupes and see what you think.

My son has the 2012 genesis coupe R spec 2.0, it is a nice car to drive and has many features, the turbo spools up slowly and flawlessly, it is smooth. The staggered tires and wheels and stiff suspension and lsd make it handle well for a coupe...and the gearbox it fine, just not an S2000 quality of shifts. Nothing is.
So i would opt for the S2000, but the genesis, with it's 10 year warranty for drivetrain and features like bluetooth , xm radio, and storage space is a nice car. It handles well and is rear wheel drive, and not bad looking. the new 2013 is more powerful but my son says a software upgrade and some other tweaks and his will be there too. he has a lease for now so he is careful not to mod it.
