I don't see the problem with keeping the S2000 in the garage and not driven very often. You'll be extending the life of the car greatly by doing that. I bought my Cayman last January and have already put 12,000 miles on it, argh!

Buying an AP1 sounds like a great move!

Probably not much more than any other motor in the car, of which any modern car has many.

As for German cars and being afraid to put miles on them, I think german cars take the mileage pretty well actually, I frequently see BMWs on craigslist that are less than 10 years old that have 300k miles on them. With the Germans, I think its kind of "its gonna break or it isn't". Driving them consistently may actually prolong their life (true of most cars actually).
