I think the S2000 is pretty close to a Type R as it is. It's market is already limited due to its hardcore nature, and a more extreme version prob. wouldn't do much for sales.

Honda seems to be a company w/ a conscience that cares about safety of it's drivers, passengers, and those in its cars' paths. Even in geographies where airbags aren't required, they'd prob. still include them. Seems kind of silly to omit a few pounds of potentially life-saving saftey gear for a high performance car that will be over-driven by amateurs.
