They're both equally reliable, but when it comes down to like paint quality and what not, the S2000 wins hands down. There is a thread on evom.net where a guy had to repaint his whole car because the paint is so shitty.

both are high end cars... both have expensive drive train parts... s2000 rear ends are made of glass. dont launch or dump the clutch.
both motors are forged from the factory and safe in that 400whp area.

Both cars are reliable unless you really dog them.

The S2000 has some problems but theres no comparison. The Evo engine is known to be rock solid but everything else in the car is well below par for reliability.

I have both. They have both been reliable so far. Of course one is 8 years old and the other is only 1.5 years old. My S2000 had the clutch shudder issue, which Honda refused to fix under warranty, but later fixed under "goodwill" with a new clutch install. I've never seen any evidence to suggest that the Evo has any reliability weaknesses, especially in stock form. Of course my Evo has a 5yr/50,0000 mi bumper to bumper factory warranty with roadside assistance + a 10yr/100,000mi factory powertrain warranty. So I don't need to worry about it too much.

honda vs. mitsubishi: ask yourseld which one has reliability on it's side?look around and see how many of each brand do you see on the road after 10 years?
there are always execeptions, but common, honda i think owns this.
