well you have to figure in the VW factor...that being that since vw produces crap that a turbo GTI isnt making decent power. s2k hands down...from a roll, from a stop, hell race in reverse and still beat him!

my reasoning on the "vw factor."

i had a 04 civic ex sedan 5sp. my good friend has a 92 jetta GLI with.....cams,chip,catback,intake,short shift kit and header.

my 04 ex had....intake(sri)header,cat-delete DC b-pipe and mugen thermostat and fan switch. we trashed talked as friends do, he said he'd KILL me.

we raced.

i POUNDED on him. vw factor. if i had those mods on my civic, wow.

we than dyno'd. GLI=147whp civic EX(vtec....ha) 132whp. our cars only weighed 57lbs different. so basically this was just an excuse for me to hate on veedubs....it felt great.

 

Um wow you beat a car that was 12 years older than you in your own piece of shit. This proves what about VW again?

Sometimes the brain to hand (or more often mouth) connection works too well. That was a normal thing to think, maybe a dick thing to write. Still, even in the nicest terms the logic used in his post was to say the least bizzare.

honestly that doesn't mean crap to me, technically the S2k will whip a GTi on a autox course with the same driver same experience in both. It was probably the driver's fault that he posted a slower time in the autox. Hell I beat a Z06 all the time in autox, even when he's on slicks, I can tell you that it's the drivers fault that i'm winning, I've even beat a Porsche GT3 by a tenth of a second? Does that mean my s2k is faster on track than his, no. The part behind the wheel makes the difference, but comparing car to car, i'm sorry but the S2k wins, straightline I have no idea but i'm saying probably the GTI.

 

A GTI (stock) cannot beat an s2k in any way shape or form. Their numbers are BS. I completely destroy any VW (stock) without any problems. From a roll, it only gets worse for them.

They are heavy and slow.

 

I don't think the guy is talking about stock though, he's talking about a GTi with 22psi and exhaust, correct me if i'm wrong but that's what I think what the scenario is.
