s2000 vs rx8

Say what you want about a RX8, I stick with the ecomobox statement
Just because it is kind of slow does not make it an econobox. I'm guessing that the FC RX-7 is an econobox as well, because it isn't as fast as an s2000?

I've always said that. If the RX8 had the Mazdaspeed 3 engine I'd be driving one. S2000 handling + 2 extra seats + good gas mileage + factory turbo + RWD for the price is instant WIN.
I'd have both, actually. Win/win.

been in a few, never driven one but the interior is just crap, falls apart ...
it's looks OK from afar but worse from close and feels not robust.
this is done on RX8 and MX5 to save weight but gives to much squeaks and scratches easily.
Here's an example of my "P.S." statement. Give him about 20 more years and his brains will have developed into a proper size.
Sports cars should have a ragtop, but a hard top has become acceptable as horsepower has risen, also, it should only have two seats and as many doors, it should also be pointy. The RX7 was a sports car, it is a real stretch to call the RX8 a sports car. But somehow over the past few decades a chick with a fat ass like Beyonce is thought to have an awesome body so maybe anything is possible.
A GT tends to be a hard top 2 door coupe with some attempt at luxury.
An Rx8 has to many doors, a hard top, a rear seat making it a 2+2.
An example of a sports car, a sports bike, and GT car that may be a sports car. Notice the lack of usefulness? That is another hallmark of a sports car.

Sticking to arbitrary definitions like two seats is kinda silly IMO. If you go by that metric, neither the 911 nor the RX-7 are sports cars either (already mentioned, I believe).
I don't have anything against +2 utility in a car that's not too grossly overweight. What's ridiculous is all the 2-seaters that still weigh 3300+ lb.
"Lack of usefulness" for its own sake doesn't in my estimation make a car more of a "sports car", I think that's a pretty ridiculous qualification. I remember when the overweight 350Z came out, one of the designers talked about how they *intentionally* minimized utility and interior space and in his words made the car "more selfish". But the car was essentially a squished down 2-seater version of a luxury sedan, and was less than 5% lighter than the G35 (coupe or sedan version).
To me, taking a luxury sedan and removing 2 seats and some utility doesn't make a sports car.
If a car is GENUINELY light weight and gives up utility and size and +2 seating to get that light weight (Lotus Elise/Exige), that's fine. But to think a car is more a sports car because it lacks utility and only has two seats, while it weighs 3300 pounds, kinda silly.

As far as brain size, you pick the metric and I'm sure you wouldn't fare that well against me.
If you called the RX8 an econobox for just having a hardtop, 4 seats, etc., then you didn't really know the meaning of econobox. The Corolla is an econobox, the RX8 is far from it; call it a sports car, sports coupe, or even GT, anything but econobox.
